Buick GL8 Minivan
Buick announced the launch of the Avenir sub-brand not long ago, and we’re already starting to see the fruits of the automaker’s labor. While the entry-level Avenir line didn’t bring any flashy vehicles to the 2016 SEMA Show, it did release a new model in China. The Buick GL8 minivan is the first model to see the Avenir treatment.
The Avenir concept that inspired the GL8 minivan appeared at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Each model comes loaded with an Earl Purple paintjob and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Gl8 minivan also signals its roots with a winged crest on the grille.
Inside, drivers will find upscale luxury features like quilted leather upholstery, a suede headliners, and a number of hard-to-miss Avenir badges.
Buick hasn’t revealed what will lie under the hood just yet. Instead, the automaker revealed that the next-generation GL8 will launch in China by 2018. Rumor has it that a four-cylinder engine capable of producing at least 250 hp will power the new model.
The new GL8 is a clear indication of what’s yet to come from the Avenir sub-brand. More luxury features are clearly on the list and that’s good in our book!
We at Wright Buick GMC are impressed by the GL8 minivan, even if it won’t be coming to the United States.
