Buick recently unveiled the next generation of the Buick Regal. The 2018 lineup will include two all-new body styles, including the Sportback and TourX. However, it seems there may be a possible third option in the form of a V6-powered Buick Regal GS.
While this information hasn’t been confirmed by Buick, The Truth About Cars captured a screenshot of a tidbit of information it found on Buick Canada’s website. The little blurb said there will be an available powertrain in the form of a 3.6-liter V6 on the GS and Twin Clutch AWD models. The information has since been removed; but, of course, anything you put on the internet lives forever.
Previously, the Buick Regal GS used a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that made 259 horsepower. If the next-generation GS comes with a V6, it could be the same 3.6-liter V6 found in the LaCrosse, or it could use a version of the V6 currently found in the Chevrolet Camaro.
In addition, the idea of a “twin-clutch” system in the GS makes it even more exciting. You can experience this unique all-wheel drive system in the 2017 Buick LaCrosse, which delivers stellar performance.
Here at Wright Buick GMC, we are hopeful that Buick will announce details of a V6-powered Buick Regal GS sometime in the near future.
